About the laboratory
The Precision Medicine for OSA Laboratory investigates the physiological mechanisms underlying obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), with the goal of advancing precision approaches to diagnosis and treatment. Our work focuses on understanding why OSA develops differently across individuals, identifying clinically meaningful disease endotypes, and developing physiology-informed methods to predict treatment response. We combine translational physiology, quantitative analysis, and engineering tools to evaluate established and emerging therapies, including surgical approaches (e.g., hypoglossal nerve stimulation therapy), oral appliances, and pharmacological treatments.
