The primary Harvard Continuing Medical Education (CME) live offering in sleep medicine, Sleep Grand Rounds, is organized through the HMS and the BWH Divisions of Sleep Medicine and occurs once monthly throughout the academic year. Partners HealthCare System designates this live activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Another CME offering is Clinical Sleep Grand Rounds which is a quarterly conference focused on clinical issues in the practice of Sleep Medicine.

Additionally, an annual CME course in sleep medicine entitled “Sleep!” is held, directed by Dr. Milena Pavlova.  The course is designed to provide in-depth overview of sleep physiology, major sleep disorders, and relationship of sleep to other disorders.  The course faculty is selected from nationally and internationally recognized sleep experts from Harvard – affiliated hospitals. The target audience is primarily clinicians (neurologists, psychiatrists, internists) who want to expand their knowledge about sleep.  Sleep specialists who are interested in updating or refreshing their knowledge are welcome. For more information, contact the Harvard Medical School Office of External Education.

The Division of Sleep Medicine also is committed to improving medical education, and to that end has developed a downloadable educational teaching module on Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Daytime Sleepiness.
