Evening Public Lecture by Pierre-Hervé Luppi, Ph.D.

Dreaming occurs during sleep in particular during paradoxical (REM) sleep. The function of dreaming is still unknown but there is now a rising number of data showing that it plays a role in setting up innate and acquired complex behaviors. I will present my current hypothesis spanning over our lifetime from birth to the dawn of our life. I will use Human and animal data to construct my proposal.

Opening Remarks: Charles A. Czeisler, MD, PhD
